In direct continuity of the regional workshop organized in El Oued in February 2024, which laid the foundations for a national strategy for potato seed autonomy, the panel planned for SIPSA-FILAHA & AFRICA FOOD EXPORT 2025 marks a new stage in the consolidation of this dynamic.

The wilaya of El Oued will be in the spotlight, with the participation of its many public, private, academic and development stakeholders.

This meeting will not only capitalize on the recommendations from field work, but also broaden the circle of consultation on a national and international scale: producers, researchers, training organizations, public decision-makers, seed companies, financing structures, cooperatives, etc.

This panel aims to deepen discussions on the technical, regulatory and economic levers needed to consolidate local production of certified, quality seeds, resilient in the face of dependence on imports.

It constitutes a key milestone in the development of an operational roadmap for seed sovereignty of the potato in Algeria.
