“This year SIPSA-Filaha
2025 promises to be exceptional
The 2025 edition of SIPSA-FILAHA is already shaping up to be an exceptional event, commensurate with the agricultural and agri-food challenges that our country is now placing at the heart of its national strategy. Rarely before have the state's highest authorities paid such assertive and constant attention to these vital issues. These are now sovereign priorities. The global health crisis linked to the Covid-19 pandemic, by revealing the vulnerabilities of our food systems, catalyzed this salutary awareness.
Launch of the General Agricultural Census (RGA)The launch of the General Agricultural Census (RGA), as well as the in-depth discussions on the land issue, demonstrate a clear political will to remove structural obstacles to national agricultural production. These advances are taking place in a particularly tense geopolitical context, where new configurations of alliances and cooperation are required. In addition to the geopolitics of energy, there is now the even more crucial issue of food security. New strategic partnerships are emerging—particularly with Italy and Qatar—and SIPSA-FILAHA 2025 aims to be a living relay of this new dynamic.
As agriculture is the central pivot of any value chain, the agri-business sector has a strategic role to play, particularly through the consolidation of the AFRIKA FOOD EXPORT. It illustrates the desire to strengthen food security through industrial processing, logistics and the supply chain.
and the intensification of South-South trade. To this end, the event is fully in line with the ambitions of the Continental African Free Trade Area (CAFTA)convinced that regional interdependence is the key to shared prosperity.
This year's major areas of innovation include two agricultural emblems: the olive tree and the date palm. The olive tree will benefit from an entirely dedicated area - the Oleomed Pavilion. aimed at structuring the sector and promoting the exceptional quality of our olive growing, notably through the organization of a professional competition for the best olive oil, geared towards export. The date palm will be honored as part of the scientific initiative “The Palm Tree Initiative 2025”.which will explore the industrial applications of this emblematic species, with a view to promoting high-performance, sustainable Saharan agriculture.
Once again this year, major partner nations will be accompanying the show. Italy to be guest of honor at SIPSA-FILAHA 2025with particular emphasis on its contributions in the cereals and red meats sectors. First, Zimbabwe, Sultanate of Oman and Cameroon will be highlighted at AFRIKA FOOD EXPORT.in recognition of the growing interest of these brotherly countries in multi-faceted cooperation with our nation.
Finally, in keeping with a now well-established tradition, two wilayas will be in the spotlight: El Oued, emblematic of Saharan agriculture and potato production, and El Tarf, with its expertise in arboriculture and industrial tomatoes.. These territories, accompanied by their local authorities, will be at the heart of debates linked to current agricultural events, with the support of the Groupe de Réflexion Filaha Innov (GRFI) and CREADwho actively contributed to the preparation of this year's workshops and round tables.
We wish you all the best for a successful and rewarding year ahead. 23rd edition of SIPSA-FILAHA & AFRIKA FOOD EXPORT 2025in the hope of making agriculture a sustainable lever for economic growth, social stability and regional influence.
