SIPSA-SIMA 2018, « An edition that met all the challenges and fulfilled Algeria’s agricultural policy agenda! »

The SIPSA-SIMA 2018 exhibition ended on a beautiful sunny day and the organisers did not hide their satisfaction: « We are very satisfied because despite a tense economic situation, this edition was a success in every respect. It was more than remarkable for : The wide range of exhibitors (nearly 550 exhibitors, 54% of whom were international), presenting numerous innovative and complementary solutions.

The number and quality of its visitors (23,000 professional visitors from 39 countries), SISPA 2018 is in line with the continuity and reinforces its position as a strategic HUB for the world of livestock and agricultural equipment in Africa and the Maghreb. The testimonies of some exhibitors are in this sense. They are satisfied with the quality of the visitors and the contacts made. The political and economic meeting of the agricultural sector, which was particularly intense with the arrival of Mr. Abdelkader Bouazghi, Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Fisheries, declaring important messages on the agricultural development plan 2019-2023, Mr. Abdelkader Bouazghi, Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries, by declaring important messages on the agricultural development plan 2019-2023, in application of an intelligent agriculture facing the challenge of food security and sustainable health, as well as Mr. Said Djellab, Minister of Trade who sponsored the Interprofessional Forum of Fruits and Vegetables « SIAFIL », whose themes were dedicated to the valorisation of agricultural products in the Export. The presence of many ambassadors and institutions confirmed the economic significance of this international event.

A popular international business forum

Despite the global crisis and a complicated national economic situation, the number of exhibitors and visitors remains as high as the previous edition. SIPSA confirms its position as a leading business forum in the Maghreb and in Africa.
Among the officials, the show welcomed the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Ambassadors of the Netherlands, Turkey, France, the EU in Algeria, and global institutions such as FAO, WHO, EU.
Generally speaking, the professional visitors were more than delighted with the welcome, the offer presented, the quality of the contacts and the conviviality and professional organisation of the fair.

The Netherlands & the wilaya of Djelfa guests of honour at SIPSA 2018

The Kingdom of the Netherlands was present with a pavilion of about twenty companies operating in the dairy sector, potato seed, export logistics, vegetable crops, were able to exchange during the 4 days of the show, with their Algerian counterparts on innovative techniques and technology transfer.
The Wilaya of Djelfa was honoured, a first for GRFI FILAHA, which is committed to highlighting a high-performance wilaya through crop diversification and investment projects. The enthusiasm of young farmers for the programme initiated for young farmers with projects from 12 wilayas visited the fair to learn about innovative technologies.

 

SIPSA & GRFI FILAHA, at the heart of current events

A highlight of this edition, the GRFI Filaha Innove forums organised in panels drew a large audience on current topics: Technologies, research, genetics, export strategy, agroecology and environment, aquaculture… so many topics addressed in two fully booked conference rooms at the National Chamber of Agriculture.
FIPLAIT focused on the contribution of animal genetics and the diversification of cropping systems to the improvement of milk production in Algeria.
The AGROECO Panel brought together followers and experts of agroecology who exchanged on the concerns and innovations of this topical discipline & cultivating one’s health through MAPs (aromatic and medicinal plants) & HE (essential oils).
DJAZAQUA presented a summary of the results and perspectives of the programme to support the diversification of the economy (DIVECO2). This programme is led by the General Directorate of Fisheries and Aquaculture in collaboration with the European Union in favour of the fisheries and aquaculture sector.
The SIAFIL, for its part, focused on the export strategy for Algerian fruit and vegetables, and was attended by the Minister of Trade and many experts in this sector.

An edition in all respects consistent with its initial concept, « Professional, international and friendly » are once again the key words of this 18th edition of the show.
The event was closed in the presence of the Minister of Agriculture. At the end of the recommendations of the forums and panels, Mr. Abdelkader Bouazghi, Minister of Agriculture congratulates Dr. Amine Bensemmane, President of the show and GRFI Filaha Innove for the implementation of the resolutions of the national conference on agriculture and plebiscites the SIPSA-FILAHA 2019 to be the agricultural show of the government program 2019-2023 in order to create through the international shows a dynamic and reference of the sector for the attraction of potential investors to our country
